What is hiding below the surface of Lake Titicaca? The AKAKOR team has searched in this expedition for traces after the dawn of civilization in the Andes. They wanted to prove the Akakor theory about that Lake Titicaca for 5,000 and 8,000 years ago was shallower, and also in some areas was dry and habitable. Already on an expedition in 2000 the AKAKOR team made some discoveries backing up their theory. Due to the more incredible finds the history has to be rewritten about pre-Incas civilizations.

The brave Norwegians gave everything, but with 30 knop strong wind on the top, heavy snow fall and 30 degrees below zero, they had no chance to reach the top.
Since the weather forcast for the coming weeks was far away from proming, they had to give up. The money for financing the expedition also ran out.
Anyway they demonstrated good courage and wise actions in everything they did.

So far they have been at the mountain for 57 days. The last 3 days from 11 to 14 July have been uncertain due to turbulent weather. With a positive weather forecast, the members started out on a 4-5 day period on Sunday. However, the weather got worse yesterday. Heavy snowfall forced all members in the expedition down from the mountain. Before this all the Norwegian members passed the 7000-border, and established Camp 3. They still need to be patient before they make their attemp to the top!

He is 21 year, from Arendal in Norway. At the moment he is finishing an unusual tour on ski. On 16 June he started on an almost 500 kilometres tour on skiing through Denmark, from the border to Germany to Skagen. Norwegians are born with ski on their feet, and so is Eirik. Just as famous Norwegian polar explorers as Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen, he also likes expeditions on ski, but not on snow. Sand is much better for him. When he has finnished the skiing in Denmark, he is ready for something bigger. As he dream abouts: crossing Sahara on ski. This is another wild expedition from Norway!
The Sahara is the world's largest subtropical desert. To get an impression how large Sahara is, this land area can be compared with the entire land area of the whole United States of America (including all states). The Norwegian Viking Eirik will be crossing countries as Mauritania, Morocco and Algeria in north Africa. On his way he should expect to handle many challenges, for instance the heat ..........
