Discovery of giant camels big as elephants near Damascus in Syria!

Giant camels as tall as some modern-day elephants lived in the Syrian desert for around hundred thousand years ago. Discovery in Bulgaria of what may be the world`s oldest writing!

The inscriptions on an almost 7,000-year-old stone tablet found in Bulgaria are assumed to be one of the world's oldest inscriptions. It’s believed that the first letters in the history has its origin from Iran. These letters were based on the Old Persian language, known as cuneiform inscriptions and dates from the time of the Achaemenian Kings of ancient Persia (6th - 4th centuries BC). Ancient Psalmbook discovered in Ireland!

The unusual discovery of an early medieval book of psalms in Ireland near the capital Dublin was Tuesday, 25 July 2006. Ireland's archaeologists consider it as a miracle. It was found by a construction worker. When he drove the shovel of his backhoe into a bog, he spotted something interesting; a handwritten edition of an Psalmbook from the Old Testament - the Bible. It was found together with remains from humans who lived in the Iron Age.

Tomas Olsson found dead - Skiing down from the North side of Mount Everest ended in tradegy!

Tomas Olsson's body was discovered yesterday (20 May) at about 6700 meters. The Swedish adventurer was reported to have fallen about 2500 meters. The Sherpa who found him plan to lower the body 300 meters down the face to get him out of an avalanche zone and then transport him out today. Tomas Olsson and his Norwegian friend Tormod Granheim were the first in the history who made an attemp to ski down the north side of Mount Everest. The first pyramid in Europe is discovered near Sarajevo, Bosnia! True or false?

Archaeologists have started excavation of what they believe might be a pyramid hidden beneath a hill in Bosnia. Semir Osmanagic is in charge of the project to uncover the ancient structure. Known as Visocica, the 650m (2,120ft) triangular mound, overlooking Visoko, has long been shrouded in a local legend. The mentioned Bosnian archaeologist who leads the project, has said it resembles pyramid sites he has studied in Latin America. So far he and his team have revealed a narrow entrance to what could be an underground network of tunnels.

Ancient stone structure discovered in the Amazon, Brazil!

Brazilian archaeologists discovered an amazing stone structure in the state of Amapa, in a remote area, far north of Amazon in Brazil. A total of 127 large blocks of stone were found driven into the ground on top of a hill. The stones were set up in a circle just as Stonehenge in England. The recently found site in Brazil is thought to be around 2000 years old. The stones are well preserved and each weighs several tons. The ancient stone structure may bring new information about the region's past.
