According to BBC News, Sao Paulo, by Steve Kingstone, a "Brazilian
Stonehenge" is discovered in a remote corner of the Amazon (reported 13 May
2006).
The site is believed
to be an observatory or place of worship. It pre-dates European colonisation and
is said to suggest a sophisticated knowledge of astronomy. The stone structure with
its circle shape, looks like the English site of Stonehenge.
This was a really amazing discovery. Many have thought that the Stonehenge
outside London was the only stone structure with that kind of formation.
