2012-08-06
Sea monster,sjøorm, sea wormSea serpent, sea monster or whatever you call it, it was an amazing observation the three Norwegian men Andreas Solvik, Arvid Otterdal and Finn Nyhammer did on Wednesday 3rd August 2012. They were on their way back home in a boat when they saw something that made ripples on the water. It was in the lake Hornindalsvatnet in Hornindal in Sogn og Fjordane. Here they observed a strange creature that they believe could be a sea serpent.

It was reported in the newspaper Fjordingen. The three friends managed also to take a photo of the mysterious creature.

It was almost silent on the water as the ripples began. They sat in a small motor boat 70 meters away, but did not know what we saw, but got a picture of it.

The lake is the deepest in Europe with up to 514 meters. What kind of creature is hiding there?

The three men are now convinced that they saw a sea serpent in their home village. They estimate that "the monster" was between two and three metres long.

Additional information
Several Norwegians claim they have seen a serpent in the lake Seljord too. Its called "Seljordormen". Watch an amazing photo taken in 2010: The serpent snake Seljordormen.

The most famous sea monster in the world is The Loch Ness Monster, populary called Nessie. Its according to Wikepedia a cryptid that is reputed to inhabit Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. It is similar to other supposed lake monsters in Scotland and elsewhere, though its description varies from one account to the next.

Popular interest and belief in the animal has varied since it was brought to the world's attention in 1933. Evidence of its existence is anecdotal, with minimal and much-disputed photographic material and sonar readings. The most common speculation among believers is that the creature represents a line of long-surviving plesiosaurs.
