The Beat Goes On Festival in Liverpool - Music that influenced the world pop music!

The Beat Goes On festival in Liverpool is inspired by city`s significant contribution to popular music. The festival is open at World Museum Liverpool from 12 July 2008 to 1 November 2009. The Beat Goes On showcases Merseysides vibrant music scenes that have played a major part in the citys life over the past 60 years. Especially one group will never be forgotten: The Beatles!

The city`s success of the Merseyside beat music and football teams, Liverpool and Everton, in have made the name 'Liverpool' famous around the world.

60 years of Liverpool music celebrated in a new exhibition. The 1960s Merseybeat movement revolutionised the pop culture, especially The Beatles.

From The Beatles to The Zutons, Liverpool is a city buzzing with musical talent. This summer (2009), the city that The Guinness Book of Records has named as World Capital City of Pop, is host to an exciting exhibition dedicated to 60 years of Liverpool music.

From the Cavern to Creamfields, from Billy Fury to the Zutons, Liverpool has been home to a staggering range of venues, sounds, performers, fashions and followers. A product of Liverpool’s edginess, energy and creativity this exhibition explores and celebrates its musical identity, its success and its continuing evolution.

The first exhibition of its kind, it draws together material from record companies, institutions and private collectors.

Entry into this Exhibition is FREE!

Previous year Liverpool was European cultural capital. Experience the beating heart of a city that will forever be a European cultural capital.
