Andeløp - the Duck Race at Mossefossen, the waterfalls of Moss, become successfull also this year. Over 500 ducks participated. The winner was the duck who "swam" first down the waterfall from Storebro brigde towards the Mossesundet. The traditional competition was accompanied by a Samba orchestra, dancing, and entertaining by a speaker.
The major Tage Pettersen opened the race with the comment: "Now I feel like being the major in Duckburg - Andeby". The water floated out, and after a while we could hear the sound of the cascading waterfalls.
Eager children runned from one side to the other side of the bridgde Storebro following their rubber ducks floating on the white waves. There was a big prize for the winner.
The collected money for this race was for helping children with cancer.

Rubber duck races, also known as derby duck races, have been used as a method of fundraising for organisations worldwide. People donate money to the organisation by sponsoring a duck. At the end of the fundraising drive, all of the ducks are dumped into a waterway, with the first to float past the finish line winning a prize for its sponsor.
