Woman missing on her way solo to the North Pole

There has been no lifesign after the French-born, 43-year old Dominick Arduin. The search for her has begun.

She left Sibir in an kayak on Friday 5 March (2004). Dominick Arduin is one of the most experienced extreme adventurers in the world. For the last 15 years she has lived in Finnish Lapland and has been awarded Finnish citizenship.

Dominick Arduin's goal has been set extremely high: to be the first woman in the world to reach the Geographic North Pole solo! This challenging attempt has just started. This is her second attempt.

Liv Arnesen from Norway was the first woman to reach the South Pole unsupported, but now another woman is ready to breake an new border. Since there has been no lifesign after her in four days, an rescue expedition has begun searching for her from helicopters.
