Here we present reviews of the most exciting traditional music and dance.

The wildest party songs that lift your guests mood

2018-02-24

We Will Rock You! Fasten your seat belts. Be ready for take off! Hey! Ho! Let's go! Wooooaoooah Woooah Woooah Wooah. The host`s party playlist is the key to a successful party. This is what makes or breaks a night out for real party lions. So which songs will boost your guests spirit?

Photo. Which are wildest party songs that will lift your guests to great heights?

By playing the right music, your guests will be lifted up in the air and they will feel that they have to shout out and sing along. Some parties turn pretty wild and there is no time for lullabies. I have searched through my library of tracks, and pulled out the wildest party tracks from across decades. As Weezer sings: I Can`t Stop Partying.

I say it again: "Fasten your seat belts. Be ready for take off!" Here are the 30 songs that will instantly uplift your guests mood:

  • Bro Hymn - Pennywise
  • Waiting Room - Fugazi
  • Blitzkrieg Bop - Ramones
  • Sham 69 - If the Kids are United
  • Pretty Fly For a White Guy - Offspring
  • Fight for Your Right - You Gotta Fight for Your Right - to Party! - The Beastie Boys (It`s a irony in the song. Anyway it`s good to sing at parties).
  • I Fought the Law - The Clash
  • Guns of Brixton - The Clash
  • Tubthumping - Chumbawamba
  • Where is My Mind - Pixies
  • Still Counting - Volbeat
  • We Will Rock You - Queen - anthemic (“stomp, stomp, clap, pause” twice per 4/4 measure)
  • Lola (live version) - The Kinks
  • Song 2 – Blur
  • Lonesome Boatman - Dropkick Murphys
  • Get It On - Turbonegro
  • The Age Of Pamparius - Turbonegro
  • Head On - Jesus and Mary Chain
  • Surrender - Cheap Trick
  • Along comes Mary - Bloodhound Gang
  • Johnny Comes Marching Home - Nordwind
  • Bo Jo Cie Kochom - De Press
  • Man in the Corner Shop - The Jam
  • Saturday's Kids - The Jam
  • Thunderstruck - AC/DC
  • Chop Suey - System of a Down
  • Can`t Stop Partying - Weezer
  • Psycho Killer (live version) - Talking Heads
  • Alabama Song (Whisky Bar) - The Doors
  • Don't You (Forget About Me) - Simple Minds
  • Ca Plane Pour Moi - Plastic Bertrand

Both the studio and live versions of these songs are fantastic. Be sure to be on board by the time when it`s break loose. Just run into it! This energtic, raw and heavy music might cause some some headbanging in the party too: you and your guests will shake your head with the music until you get dizzy and even more crazy.

"Bro Hymn" is a anthem for many sports teams around the world. It has a high sing along factor, and I really like the lyrics in the song about friendship. This song will really unite your guests. The most important in the party is socialising and celebrating the good friendship.

Bro Hymn Tribute (lyrics second verse).
Ever get the feeling you can't go on
Just remember whose side it is that you're on
You've got friends with you 'til the end
If you're ever in a tough situation
We'll be there with no hesitation
Brotherhood's our rule we cannot bend

Wooooaoooah Woooah Woooah Wooah

The song "Where is My Mind" by Pixies describes a state of mind when partying and achieve an out-of-body experience:

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
But there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself
Where is my mind

I know I have missed out some really good songs suitable for parties performed by artists as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Queen of the Stone Age, U2, Coldplay, Kent, Blondie and Clash. Not to be forgotten. The night is long!

My friend Geir in Oslo, Norway, recommends Blitzkrieg Bop by Ramones, a song he used to play himself in a group called Søppel & Kødd in his youth period. Based on a simple three-chord pattern, "Blitzkrieg Bop" opens with the chant "Hey! Ho! Let's go!" The song is popular at sporting events where "Hey! Ho! Let's go!" is sometimes shouted as a rallying cry. He also recommends Meat Loaf`s songs Bat out of Hell and Paradise by the Dashboard Light. My friend Geir in Moss, Norway, recommends the punk songs 21st Century (Digital Boy) by Bad Religion and What`s My Age Again by Blink 182, and the more heavy songs Ace of Space by Motorhead, Space Lords by Monster Magnet, and Kräkas by Lillasyster.

All these songs that I have handpicked will definitely lift your guests spirits up: you will hear laughter, see smiles, hands in the air, handshaking, give me five, frequent toasting, and rocking around the tables - perhaps there will be some dancing on the tables too - and of course sing along! They will feel delirious happiness, and be able to carry the party the whole night long. The big question is: how high will your guests jump? Will they float in the air and feel weightless? Get a spiritual vision? Perhaps you will hear a true primal scream too? Rock on!

We Will Rock You!

[Verse 1]
Buddy, you’re a boy, make a big noise
Playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday
You got mud on your face, you big disgrace
Kicking your can all over the place (singing)

[Chorus]
We will, we will rock you
We will, we will rock you

[Verse 2]
Buddy, you’re a young man, hard man
Shouting in the street, gonna take on the world someday
You got blood on your face, you big disgrace
Waving your banner all over the place

[Chorus]
We will, we will rock you (sing it out)
We will, we will rock you

[Verse 3]
Buddy, you’re an old man, poor man
Pleading with your eyes, gonna make you some peace someday
You got mud on your face, big disgrace
Somebody better put you back into your place

[Chorus]
We will, we will rock you (sing it)
We will, we will rock you (everybody)
We will, we will rock you
We will, we will rock you

Headbanging:
According to Wikipedia, headbanging was probably coined during Led Zeppelin's first US tour in 1969. During a show at the Boston Tea Party, audience members in the first row were banging their heads against the stage in rhythm with the music. It`s more like hair floating, for they who have long hair. The practice itself and its association with the rock genre was popularized by guitarist Angus Young of the band AC/DC.
