Memorial service for the movie star whale Keiko in Oregon, US

2004-02-17
It's going to be an open house for guests to honour Keiko at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in the US. The aquarium, located on the west coast, will keep a memorial service for the movie star whale Keiko, which was buried in Norway recently after living there for 2 years.

Keiko (1975 - 2003) starred in the Hollywood movie "Free Willy". He will be honoured in Oregon because he was in the aquarium there from 1996 to 1998 to prepare for living the rest of his life in freedom. On Friday, 20 February 2004, guests are invited to attend remembrance services and an open house for Keiko at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

According to the Oregon Coast Aquarium's website, officials will unveil a new retrospective exhibit commemorating Keiko's amazing journey.  The new display features a pictorial and written timeline of Keiko's life, along with a book for guests to write their thoughts and memories of Keiko, which is considered as an magnificent animal.
