Be careful how you download the guides. Most city guide from Lonely Planet is about 20 megabytes in size. It could cost you much if you use for example 3G or Edge. And it can be far more expensive than buying the book versions of the guides (most of them cost around 7.5 – 8.75 EUR - Euro).
Find yourself an open wireless network and download the city guides without worrying about money. Burger King and several other chain restaurants are safe places to use free Internet connection.
