Photo. The snow cap on
Kilimanjaro is very beautiful, but it's not everything on Kilimanjaro.
The crater of Kibo, the higher
peak, is covered with an ice cap.
Tanzania's attracts about 20,000 trekkers each year and is an important
income for the country's tourist industry.
The mountain is known as the "Roof of Africa," and romanticized by the world
famous author Ernest Hemingway.
People climb Kilimanjaro first and foremost for challenging themselves. Their
big aim is of course reaching the top, and not for admiring the snow. But of
course it's a big inspiration to view the beautiful mountain various
surroundings. It gives trekkers extra energy to climb further.
Kilimanjaro is far more than just the snow top. Most of the mountain is a mix
of forest, moorland, and on its upper level there are volcanic craters.
The glacier can be seen from near 4000 metres (second camp
level). It could be seen clearer from Kibo base camp at 15,420 feet, and it is only
when one reaches the rim of the crater that people can see it clearly.
So the melting snow would not frighten away trekker in the future. If the
snow cap disappears one day, it will still great to test yourself here. In
addition you will get a wonderful same how!

Extract from one of our articles: By reading my story you can understand that
most people can do the same. Reaching the top of Kilimanjaro it's not unique in
itself, but it's a great personal victory for most people.I remember Neil
Armstrong's famous words when he became the first human on the moon: "One small
step for man, one giant leap for mankind". I would like to put it this way: "One
small step for mankind, one giant leap for me"!
