The 1989 Hillsborough disaster was a human crush which occurred during the FA Cup semi-final match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest football clubs on 15th April 1989 at the Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, England.
The crush resulted in the deaths of 96 people and injuries to 766 others. The incident remains the worst stadium-related disaster in British history and one of the world's worst football disasters. Read more about the Hillsborough disaster on Wikipedia.
In the music video Sir Paul McCartney joins a host of stars on the Justice Collective's Christmas cover of He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother, in aid of the Hillsborough families (uploaded on YouTube, 5th December 2012).
Sir Paul will feature alongside the likes of Robbie Williams, Melanie C, Holly Johnson and Gerry Marsden on the single which is due to be released on December 17.
The acts, who are going under the name The Justice Collective, will raise money to cover the legal costs of the families of the Liverpool supporters killed in the Hillsborough disaster in 1989.
