Party Life
Here we present unique experiences from the wild partylife around the world.

Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 25 to 28 February 2007!

2006-08-31
Nobody celebrates like the Brazilians, especially not during the carnival in Rio. This big event takes place next year (2007) non-stop from 25 to 28 February. It’s a marathon party with enormous vibrations where the participants don’t sleep during the carnival. The highlight is the Sambodromo parade. Other highlights are the street processions and masquerade balls.

The Brazilian Carnival, which is spelled Carnaval in Portuguese, is an annual celebration organised forty days before Easter and marking the start of Lent.

The carnival in Rio de Janeiro is considered to be one the most spectacular events in the world. It could be described as a gigantic dream theatre with wonderful colours, creative costumes, erotic dances, pulsating samba music.

Nowadays there are seven divisions of samba schools, who play a major part of the carnival in Rio de Janeiro. The parading samba schools are continuous streams of colour, motion and rhythm. Of the 13 or 14 samba schools, some have members running into thousands, with as many as 30 floats each and hundreds of drummers. The synchronised steps, swirls and rhythms are faultless. They compete hardly to win the dancing contest.

People around the world will come to participate and observe this unique event. Foreign visitors alone number around 300,000 every year. For many of them, they could get an impress of coming to another plan, or experience something supernatural. The most important is that the carnivals spreads happiness and make people in their best mood. Keep up the good vibrations in Rio for the next carnival.
