Big expedition in the Antarctic

2004-02-22
87 participants from nine countries join an expedition led of The Norwegian Polar Institute. Approximately 15 000 kg with equipment will in few days arrive by ship. Further will the equipment be transported on sledges to the Norwegian camp Troll.
Scientists will do research work on fish, birds and the ocean currents. During a month they will conduct several missions on parts of the Norwegian continent. A group is also going to Bouvet Island to study Penguins and Seals.

Hopefully they can succeed to preserve the area as one of the best wilderness areas in the world.

Stein Morten Lund, 15 December 2000
