This will be the first complete descent from the top of Mount Everest on ski.
In extreme sport there is probably nothing bigger than down hill skiing on Mount
Everest. The mountain is both high and steep, and the air is thin.
To do a stunt like this Granheim and Olsson have been training hard all
the winter in Chamonix, French Alps. Fredrik Schenholm will join them as a
photographer.
Both Granheim and Olsson live in Chamonix, France, where they have skied many of
the classic lines, socalled "testpieces". In fall 2003 the duo rehearsed for the 2004 project
by skiing from the summit of two mountains over 7000 metres: Muztagh Ata (7546m)
& Kuksay Peak (7186m) in China.
According to Tomas` website, he has prepared himselves to the Everest
expedition by cycling previous summer solo from Stockholm to Chamonix in France,
climbed Mont Blanc (4810 metres), and returned on bike to Sweden again.
In January 2002 Granheim become the first Scandinavien on ski on Aconcaguas
Poland glacier.

It`s difficult to reach the top
of Mount Everest, but it`s even more difficult to descent the mountain by ski.
It seems that no challenges are too big for these two Scandinavians. Some fears the
snow, others fears the lack of snow. With or without snow, they have to
find their way down again.
