According to ExplorersWeb - www.ExplorersWeb.com (The Poles.com), Cecile, Silje and Linn will travel to Greenland on 23 April 2009 to ski across the Icecap from West to East, following the traditional route along the Arctic Circle. Their plan is to complete the crossing in about 23 days. Cecilie’s company, Fram Expeditions, organized the expedition. Link til ExplorersWeb article about Cecilie Skog.
Cecilie Skog has summited Everest and has skied to the South Pole and North Pole back to back, without airdrops and kites. In 2008 she summited K2. Her husband Rolf Bae, who skied both Poles with her, was killed in the tragedy that took place on K2 in August last year.
During April/May 2009 Cecilie will guide fellow Norwegians, Silje Hanum Padøy and Linn Yttervik, along the Arctic Circle route across the Greenland Icecap from West to East. Previously the three women have done several expeditions together, among others an expedition to Cho Oyu in 2007.
