Galdhøpiggen, Galdhogpiggen, is the magical walk, but not without challenges. Galdhøgpiggen is far below half of the height compared with Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, but you get a much stronger impression of the height on Galdhøgpiggen. Watch up and keep your balance in the dramatic Norwegian landscape on your way to the top.

Gjermund Nyseter from Norway is a genuine Norwegian mountain goat from the mountain village Oppdal. He just loves heights. During one weekend in august 2007 he reached the top of two of Norway`s highest mountains, Galdhøgpiggen – Galdhopiggen and Glittertind. I have a feeling that I have performed something, says Gjermund delighted, but the most important is enjoying the grandeur nature.

In the sunset at mountain region Kvamsfjellet there were beautiful shining snow peaks all around. Especially the high mountain range Rondane was strongly illuminated in the sunset, and the colours were shifting. It created a fairytale atmosphere in the Easter. For Norwegians the Easter means snow, sun and fun!

Look at trolls celebrating Christmas in Sandvika near Oslo. They are found in Sandvika Storsenter, which is the largest shopping center in Scandinavia. It covers 190 stores on 8 different floors, 1 km from one end to the other. Here you find a great mix of shops, boutiques and concept stores, but you find also small and big trolls around in the centre. The trolls look scarey, but they spread joy and happinnes in the Christmas time.

It was a beautiful day on Sunday 17 December 2007 when the sun broke through the dark skyes, and lightened up the ice on the fjord in Sandvika at Kadettangen, Kalvøya. In the middle of this day I observed two or more sundogs on opposite sides of the sun simultaneously. There was no snow in Sandvika near Oslo, but anyway the sun rays made the Christmas atmosphere here quite unique.

In the dark mid winter Norwegian do everything to have some fun. On the surface Christmas in Oslo looks quite similar as any other large European city, but you when walk along the main street in Oslo, Karl Johansgate, you will see there are trolls standing outside the shops. They are both guarding the people and spreading joy.

It's popular world wide for children to tell Santa what they would like for Christmas, but where do he live? Shall your wishlist be sent to the North Pole, the South Pole, Rovaniemi in Finland - Soumi, or to Savalen or Drobak, Drøbak in Norway, or somewhere else?

For many travellers from around the world, the trolls in Norway capital main street Karl Johan`s gate, draw a lot of attention. I guess many wonder: what are the amazing creatures doing here? Are they guarding the Norwegians, or are they trying to scare away foreign visitors? By looking at their great smile, it`s more likely that the trolls are greeting nice visitors. But just to let you know: a troll is a fearsome member of a mythical anthropomorphic race from Norwegian folklore.

Trekking from hut to hut in Norway`s pure wilderness is the best way to experience the country. When the snow has melted there are great opportunities for exploring Norway`s breathtaking nature by foot. Here you can walk down to deep valleys, climb high mountains and cross glaciers. DNT - the Norwegian Trekking Association, also called Turistforeningen in Norwegian, are Norway's biggest outdoor organisation for activities. During 135 years the organisation has promoted trekking and improved conditions for all who enjoy the country's broad range of outdoor attractions. For late summer and autumn this year (2006), DNT has some special tour offers which should be interesting for eager trekkers and adventurers.

The Frogner Park, called Frognerparken in Norwegian, is the Norwegian capital Oslo`s green lung and play ground for both adults and children. The beautiful park exhibit sculptures of mankind. There are plenty of opportunies for picnic, partying, jogging, playing football, frisbee and more. Here you can experience the Norwegians culture and lifestyle at the fullest. This summer has been great, and a pulsating life has been going on from early morning to late night.

Svalbard in Norway is one of the world’s last frontiers. It’s a paradise for genuine adventurers, but not without risks. A tour guide shot recently a polar bear on Storøya on the northeast side of Svalbard (31 July 2006). It was claimed to be in self-defence, and done to protect tourists from the aggressive bear.
