Philippe Goitschel, become the first man to pass the mythical border of
250 km/h on skis. The former world record was held since 1999 by the Austrian
Harry Egger, who reached a speed of 248,105 km/h. For ladies, Carine Dubouchet,
holds the record of 242,26 km/h.
On Goitschel`s website he describes ski speeding as a sport of
continuously excitement and exploration.
He considers this sport as rich on human and technical values: competition,
going beyond of oneself, search for challenges and use of new technology. Ski
speeding is the fastest sport without "motorization".
